Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The deadline for action on bills passed in the 2024 General Assembly sesion is April 8, and Governor Youngkin continues to work his way through them.
On Wednesday, he announced that 36 more have been signed. Youngkin also amended two and vetoed 22 more. The vetoes included legislation to lessen penalties for criminals and protect illegal migrants.
“We have a duty to protect the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia from harm. I vetoed 22 bills: which protect illegal immigrants, or impede law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges from holding criminals accountable and bringing them to justice,” said Youngkin in the release.
