Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Comments continue to come in on Governor Glenn Youngkin's (R) re-write of the model policy for transgender students in public schools. As of noon, there were roughly 17,000 comments online over the policy, the overwhelming number of them opposed to Youngkin's changes.

The comments were titled with messages like "strongly opposed" and "regressive." They also came as students around Virginia walked out of class to oppose any change.

There are also comments in support, and the Republican Party of Virginia chairman has asked supporters of Youngkin's policy to write comments as well.

Democratic Delegate Marcus Simon (D-Fairfax) says he has seen enough and is calling on Youngkin to withdraw the policy. The comment period lasts until near the end of October.
