NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Robert De Niro suffered a leg injury this week in Oklahoma -- where he is shooting the upcoming Martin Scorsese film "Killers of the Flower Moon" -- prompting his return to NYC Thursday night with plans to see a local doctor on Friday.

"While at his on-location home in Oklahoma for the filming of Martin Scorsese's 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' Robert De Niro injured his quadriceps muscle which will be treated medically in New York." the actor's rep said. "This will not affect production as he was not scheduled to film again for another three weeks."

Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the film -- which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio -- is about members of the Osage tribe who are murdered under mysterious circumstances, sparking a major F.B.I. investigation .
