NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Kamala Harris will become the first vice president of the United States to be immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds New York.
The wax museum announced Wednesday that a sculpture of the first woman of color vice president is already in the works. A sculpture of President Joe Biden is also being constructed.
The museum posted footage of the pair's clay heads to its social media accounts just hours ahead of Biden's first joint address to Congress.
“The clay heads were created by a team of studio artists based in London and represent meticulous detail captured by researching hundreds of images to achieve an exact likeness of the famous U.S. leaders' faces,” read a post on the museum's Facebook page.
According to reports, the finished sculptures will be displayed in the “Oval Office Experience” at Madame Tussauds New York.
The museum notes that the sculptures of Biden and Harris’ heads took six weeks to create and the bodies will require another four to six months.
Reports add that the wax figures will be wearing Biden and Harris’ Inauguration Day outfits when they are put on display.
