Is Ariana Grande giving up on music?
Ariana Grande has announced plans to shift her focus from pop music to musical theatre and acting, saying, "[Broadway] is my heart." She said she'll still make music, but she won't release pop songs at the same frequency as in the past decade. With her upcoming role as Glinda in "Wicked," Ariana is eager to get back to her theatre roots, saying, "I think reconnecting with this part of myself...heals me."
In the meantime, her co-star Cynthia Erivo, may have unintentionally shaded other actresses who auditioned for the role of Glinda, which Ariana got.
Talking to the New York Times, she said she was excited to hear Ariana go the role, exclaiming, "Thank goodness, because it was not the two ladies that I was auditioning with," Some fans believe she was just hyping Ariana, but others felt "there are better ways to praise your co-star without stepping on colleagues."
And in one more piece of Oz news, the iconic ruby slippers actually worn by Judy Garland in the original "The Wizard Of Oz" are now up for bid. Starting bid is $812,500, with the auction continuing through December 7th. With interest in all things Oz-related heating up as "Wicked" hits the big screen this month, expect that price to skyrocket.
During a recent panel, Keanu Reeves talked a bit about his experience filming the original "John Wick" movie, admitting he reportedly did 90% of his own stunts. He said some of those scenes were so intense and demanding that he even threw up "a couple of times." By the way, if it weren't for Eva Longoria, the first "John Wick" film may have never seen the light of day. They were short on budget, so at the very last minute, Eva provided the additional six million dollars needed to fund it. I'll be those residuals are nice, too.
Travis Kelce was recently spotted attending "The Eras Tour" to watch his girlfriend Taylor Swift. Speaking on his "New Heights" podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis shared, "I wanted to see Tay one more time before this thing got closed up," he shared. He also pointed out that the crowd was "a lot more rowdy this time around." Fans may be sad not to see him at more of her concerts, but Travis has gone to over a dozen of them, and he even made a surprise onstage cameo in London earlier this year. "The Eras Tour" will officially wrap up later this year, with the final show set for December 8th.
"Dancing with the Stars" pro Gleb Savchenko is taking the blame for his split from his dance partner Brooks Nader. The two were partners on the show and were romantically involved until they were eliminated. While the exact circumstances of the split remain a mystery, Gleb has owned up to being the one that ended things.
