A San Francisco man is facing murder charges after prosecutors say he intentionally ran down a 74-year-old pedestrian on a SoMa sidewalk. A San Jose 6th grader is among the four spellers from the Bay Area regional competition to advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which is held next month in Washington D.C. Artificial Intelligence could be used to accelerate what is an otherwise long process of bringing new medical treatments to market.
