And that post said, now Joe can't put this out, that post said that the United States was actually trying to kill\n\n02:15\nthat American Airman. Yeah, he put that out there. He reposted Iranian propaganda. He shared an article from the Iranian state media over the weekend that claimed the US was actively bombing the same area where the missing Airman was believed to be.\n\n02:37\nThey said that the Trump administration had lost hope of finding the American soldier and was now trying to kill him before he could be captured by Iranian forces. It's time to get them out of there. We got to get rid of Donald Trump. Even people like Alex Jones are talking about this. How do we 25th amendment is asked? The problem is to get the 25th amendment is harder than impeachment. Wait a where are you? There we go. Department of Justice investigators and prosecutors work to punish those who commit fraud. For example, just this week and it's only Tuesday.\n\n11:21\nA criminal defendant was sentenced and the department obtained two additional guilty pleas and matters totaling over half a billion dollars in healthcare and COVID fraud. If you think about that, just since yesterday, we had a guilty plea in a $160 million healthcare enrollment fraud scheme and a sentencing in a $100 million COVID-19 fraud and a guilty plea in a $160 million healthcare fraud scheme as well.\n\n11:50\nEach of these cases represents countless hours of dedication from the prosecutors and the federal agents and local law enforcement who work them. There's a 160 million dollars in healthcare enrollment scans, a hundred million COVID fraud hit, and another 160 million dollars in healthcare plea. There's a half a million dollars, I'm sorry, half a billion dollars.\n\n12:18\neven cbs is reporting on all of this fraud is coming up now to our ongoing cbs news investigation into fraud in the hospice industry are investigative unit found some potential red flags when hospice doctors submitted claims for more than twenty times the number of patients the average california doctor cares for in a year cbs news correspondent adam yamaguchi hit the road to follow the money\n\n12:47\nThe state of California says that if a doctor is involved with any more than like even just a few hospices, it is a sign of potential fraud. At the heart of the industry are doctors who are trusted to sign off on care. But in records for the active physicians caring for terminal patients, one stands out. A man whose name appeared on claims from 126 hospices and had 60 % more in Medicare reimbursements than the next closest doctor in 2024.\n\n13:17\n$70 million in claims that doctor had in 2024, allegedly caring for 2,800 patients at 126 hospice facilities. And all of this under Gavin Newsom's nose, every single bit of it was going on in California.\n\n13:41\nI'm going to, we've already got half a billion dollars in fraud cases that were adjudicated this week and it's only Tuesday.\n\n13:54\nThis is going to be in the literally the hundreds of billions of dollars.\n\n14:00\nthat these people have been defrauding from the government and ultimately us. Our taxpayer dollars are going for all of this. So when you want to talk about winning, that's one of the definite ways that we are winning right now. Congressman Timmons, welcome to the program. Hope you're doing well. Charlie, good afternoon. Thanks for having me on. Yeah, like I said, two hours, 40 minutes until the deadline in Iran. Why is this so important? Well, the president is doing what the president does. He's doing his best to uh bring this conflict to an end and to achieve our objectives.\n\n19:04\nHe's trying to negotiate for position shrinks and it seems like it's working. I'm not sure if he saw, but the tax standing prime minister has said that things are, uh that diplomacy is working well. The negotiations are going in the right direction. He requests two additional weeks. Now, again, I think that the president is going to continue to drive a hard bargain and try to resolve this, but I think everything's on the table and it's.\n\n19:32\nIf you take anything off the table, you're inherently weakening your own negotiating position and he's not going to do that. Yeah. One of the provisions was to open up the, uh, the Strait of Hormuz. That would, I mean, that would help out a lot. mean, ultimately that's, that's really what we want. That's correct. I mean, it's really the, it's Iran's only negotiating position. If they, if they remove the only thing that they have in their toolbox, then I mean, that's going to move a lot.\n\n20:03\nmove strongly in the right direction. again, we'll see what happens. the president is, we're watching the art of the deal play out and he's going to continue to do his best and I have full confidence this can work out. How's Washington right now? Are people nervous about what's going on? Well, nobody's in Washington. The Oh, that's true. I forgot about that. Yeah. So everybody's back in their districts. There's been four or five different Republicans that have made some comments.\n\n20:31\nI'm just kind of questioning some of the rhetoric and I can understand that, you know, some people don't appreciate some of the rhetoric, but this is the thing. We elected a guy from Manhattan and that's just how they talk. And honestly, he's been speaking this way for 20 years. So I'm not really surprised. They talk that way when you order a pizza from them. So now, you you guys are on a break.\n\n20:58\nThat still means that we do have a partial government shutdown, 50 days. Lindsey Graham seems to think that we can get this done with a reconciliation package. What does that look like? So there's this big plan that has come together and it's the worst plan except for all the others. The plan is to uh basically accept the Senate's proposal for government funding and that\n\n21:27\nappropriations bill does not include funding for ICE or Customs and Border Patrol. And so, but it funds the rest of DHS. So we would then use Reconciliation 2.0, which the Senate's currently working on under Senator Graham, and he's the Budget Committee Chair. That's why he's in charge of it. And so the plan is to fund uh ICE and CBT, not for the rest of this year, but for the rest of Trump's term. So that's kind of what's going on right now.\n\n21:56\nReconciliation is not easy and using it in this way has never been done. So the house is currently saying, show us that we're going to actually do this because the, the Senate bill specifically has some language that no money is allowed to go to fund ice or CBT. And I have serious reservations about that. And I could get over those if I knew that we were going to fund ice and CBT for the next three years. But I.\n\n22:25\ndon't really trust the Senate. And uh I need to know that I'm funding ICE and CBP for three years when I vote for a bill that says that we're not going to give anybody ICE and CBP. So we're trying to thread the needle. It's complicated, but we got to get it done. And I'm confident we're going to. So was that the bill they sent over at three o'clock in the morning? So that was the bill they sent over at three o'clock in morning. And then we sent it back to them. And then they sent it back to us. We're playing a little ping pong. It's fun. So if, I mean,\n\n22:55\nI can imagine if you guys agreed to this and then all of a sudden they pulled the rug out from under you and said, no, we're only going to be funding um ICE and CBP for six months. I mean, that would be kind of a gut punch, wouldn't it? It would be very bad. It'd be bad for House leadership. It'd be bad for the trust in the administration, for the trust in the Senate. And there's a lot of things that we need to get done this year. So we need to get this right. And so I think the plan is to\n\n23:25\nbasically incentivize the Senate to speedily pass reconciliation 2.0 and get it over to us so we can vote on the DHS funding bill that does not include ICE and CBP at the same time or, you know, contemporaneously with reconciliation 2.0 so we can then fund them for three years and I'd be okay with that. Well, Lindsey Graham also talked about\n\n23:52\nfunding or passing part of the Save America Act, um parts of it, also through reconciliation. A lot of people are saying there's no way that the Senate parliamentarian is going to allow that. What are your thoughts on that? we spent so much time on reconciliation 1.0, which is either the big, beautiful bill or the Working Family uh Tax Cuts Act. So, mean, that took us so much time, but that was a huge package, seven, eight trillion dollars.\n\n24:21\nah The thought that we're going to then turn around and do reconciliation 2.0 just for a small amount of government, then around and do reconciliation 3.0. Yeah. Is that something that can really have you left and we're really not in Washington nearly enough. So maybe we could just actually stay in DC and work and get all this stuff done as it relates to parliamentarian. There's a lot of interesting things you can do that would uh\n\n24:50\naddress my concerns about the parliamentarian you can always write it different way for example the reason that we have a nationwide drinking age of 21 is not because of federal law but it's but worked into the the department transportation funding that you're only eligible for federal highland funds if you if you're drinking age is 21 right so you know there's there's we can we can work something in where there's a big pot of money\n\n25:17\nassociated with this and you're only eligible if you require photo ID, if you require proof of citizen. Why is this kind of running an evening that you pass the parliamentarian, but this has never been done before. we're, we're, we're, it's new territory. It is new. They don't understand the strategy. the first time in history, Arab nations, powerful Arab nations, are actually supporting Israel in the conflict, indirectly, if not directly. And of course, the United States are supporting the United States. In the long run, what you see is potential for actual relationships, expanded relationships, like the Abraham Accords with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar.\n\n26:41\nwith Israel if you take the Iranian regime that has caused so many problems for those countries too out of the picture. And so what you see potentially is a reduction of US involvement in the Middle East and even, and this is the lie that Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and uh Alex Jones are going off that we're doing this for Israel's uh purposes. uh\n\n27:11\nThe reality is that's not true. We've actually provided more support and protected oil resources for Arab countries, spent more money for Arab nations, defended and fought more for Arab nations in the Middle East over the last, you know, 30, 40, 50 years than we have for Israel. Yeah, you're exactly right. appreciate it. Jim, let me ask you a question since you kind of know about all this. A Texter said, what are the tactics\n\n27:39\nthat they're using in the straighter form moves.\n\n27:44\nmean is the arraign in the arraign and yeah yes so part of it is a block but another big important part is they have these chinese silkworm missiles and it basically surface to ship missiles right that's missiles there are some of those capabilities in the in the region and then they've got the small boats that called bog hammers they've loaded them up something like what happened with the with the call\n\n28:09\nI years ago right where they could actually take a ship and you know our small boat and attempt to attack one of you know some of these ships the oil tankers don't have the defensive capabilities to be able to stop maybe something like that There's a limited mine capability that still exists uh Possibly the but the but the real issue. I think is much broader. It's much more sophisticated\n\n28:35\nIf the Trump administration wanted to escort ships through and do some protection, they could do that. We did that back in the Iran-Iraq war in the 80s with special operations. I was actually in one of the units that did that mission for a while. And um they could actually do that. But what he's doing is putting pressure on the Europeans and the Chinese by keeping the straight.\n\n29:01\nSo, so, but I mean, you just said if you know, we could do that, but when we only get a small percentage of our oil through the state of Hormuz, wouldn't it be more? I mean, wouldn't the other countries need to have some skin in the game?\n\n29:16\nthink that from my perspective that's exactly what the administration is shoving in the face of the europeans and the chinese yeah he's actually using that as leverage and i think it's a very powerful statement if in fact they're successful and i don't see how over time worst case scenario i mean of course any any casualties are terrible on anybody's side i fought war for many many years i hate it when the potential for success here\n\n29:45\nwould actually be a huge stabilizer for the entire region. And the worst case scenario that could come out of this is the Iranians have much less capability for the next 20 or 30 years to actually rebuild and have the influence and the funding to support Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and some of these other surrogate organizations that have really caused problems in the entire region. you know, it's, the potential here is...\n\n30:14\nfor success is very high. The losses, I think, are minimal. And it allows the United States to move away from defending the region because we don't need to anymore. develop our own oil.
