00:27
Thank you for calling out the GOP, whether it be on a national level or the local level, they are weak. They're not any fighters in our program, though they get along crew and they get up there and get their pockets full. And the Islamic takeover is huge. Appreciate you bringing that up. Texas is being overrun right now because of the H1B1 visa program. There's mosques going up, neighborhoods going up, and that's something that we're really not focusing on. And it's happening in Georgia and other states.
00:57
We really need to be alert to that because you're right. It's going to be bad if we don't start paying attention and get it under control. I even here in South Carolina, I appreciate it. Ken, thank you. Even here in South Carolina, what do we have? I'm sorry, that was Eddie. What do we got? Islamville here in South Carolina. Totally enclosed Islamic community. Kind of weird. Let's go to Ken in Lake Lure. Ken, welcome. Hi, Charlie. Good afternoon to you. I just wanted to...
01:27
been a good old missouri boy i need to correct one of your previous callers harry truman was from missouri he did not return to georgia yeah that was f d r's home and he would yeah he returned his home in independence missouri and he even turned down uh... taking that presidential plane home he invested with the train back to canada really you see i mean that's that's that's somebody that serves and goes you know what i'm no better than anybody else
01:56
He was an unassuming man and a great man, think. Great president. There you go. Only one from Missouri, I believe. Maybe so. But the late great Rush Limbaugh was also from Missouri. So there you go. I appreciate it, Ken. Thank you very much. 800-905-0-989. That's also the Common Sense Retirement Planning Text Line. Would love to chat with you in this final hour on this Wednesday. You guys can make it through all the pollen that's out there. I'm telling you. I saw a picture.
02:27
And somebody posted last night over on Facebook, I was just kind of scrolling through, gosh, which lake, I think it was Lake Hartwell. They were up at Lake Hartwell, they were in one of the little coves there, they pulled their boat up in a little cove at Lake Hartwell. And the, the water, it didn't even look like water. It just looked like this, this yellow-green sludge that they were, ugh.
02:55
I don't like that. Hey, it's always a pleasure to talk to Cassandra from Greenville. How you doing, Cassandra? I'm doing okay, Charlie. You know, I'm changing the subject here because I've heard the newscast a few times and it's driving me crazy about this lawsuit, winning this lawsuit against YouTube and so on. Yeah. And I'm wondering why aren't the parents responsible for controlling their child? I certainly limited TV time when my children were young. Yeah. Why aren't they the ones?
03:25
I mean, should maybe YouTube sue them for not taking care of their child? Yeah, I don't even know. How old was that girl? Well, here's what she actually says. She says that, let's see, she says that she began using YouTube at age six and Instagram at age nine. And then it says she told the jury she was on social media all day long as a child. I'm sorry, but the parents have a role in this.
03:53
Yeah, I agree with you. I agree with you. I mean, that's like if you sit there and you go, oh man, I started drinking Coca-Cola when I was six years old and I drink it all day long. And now I've got diabetes and I've, you know, I'm overweight and it's Coca-Cola's fault. Yeah. And you're going to sue Coke for that because your parents let you have Coca-Cola. I agree.
04:20
I agree. It's just driving me crazy and I'm afraid it's a slippery slope because you're saying now that there are thousands of people who want to sue for this and I'm listening to it going, I just don't get it. Parents have children, you're supposed to take care of them. Yeah. And how shameful that they did let her stay on all day long doing that. But anyway, they just had to complain. I wanted to get your input on it. No, I think you're exactly right. I think parents have abdicated their responsibility for their children.
04:50
They now want the state to raise them. Well, let's pray not. Yeah. things change. So thanks, Charlie. I appreciate it. Thank you. Let's go to Jean in Simpsonville. Jean, welcome. Oh, thank you. Yes. Charlie, I just first of all, I wanted to say that I am a giant fan of yours. I agree with you 99 % of the time. Thank of fact, I'm going to make a confession, and I hope it's not bringing up a bad topic. But way back when they...
05:18
We're going to pick who is going to pick the morning show, do the morning show. I was furious when they didn't pick you. I mean, I've grown to really like Tara a lot, but I was so mad when you didn't get that thought. Well, I thank you. didn't even know I was up for it. uh Tara and I both came from the same station down in Charleston. She came up to do mornings and they called me up to do afternoons. I'm, hey, listen, let me tell you something, Jean.
05:46
after doing 30 years of morning radio, I am so happy not to get up at three o'clock in the morning, not have to go to bed by nine. I can get up when I wake up and I can go to bed when I'm tired. So I'm loving the afternoon slot, absolutely. What's on your mind? great. Okay, my question is this. I know the governorship is coming up soon. Yeah. And it'll be here before we know it. And I'm very mixed up of who to vote for. And I was wondering...
06:12
If you had, if you could give me any advice who you are leaning towards. I don't know if you could tell me that or not on the radio, but I was just curious what your opinion is on that. Well, I can tell you this that we, don't even know if I'm supposed to, but who cares? I've been in trouble before. Um, we are going to have governor's candidate forums coming up here on this show. Uh, it's going to be coming up in a little bit. Um, but we're going to have them.
06:41
and we're going to have each of the candidates on for a full hour all by themselves. We're going to limit commercial availability so that you guys can get all of the information you need from these candidates and we'll be asking them the tough questions as well. Good, good. That's what I wanted to hear. Okay. It's really, yeah, it's a tough decision, but thank you so much and keep up the good work. You're fantastic. I appreciate it, Gene. Thank you very, very much. WRD Talk Line again, 800.
07:07
9050-989. I've been wanting to get to this story.
07:14
I guess since, I'll tell you when, since the second segment of the four o'clock hour, I've been trying to, it just keeps getting pushed past. So I'm gonna get to it right now. So the Democrats' new plan about the SAVE Act is to be stupid. Listen to them. I don't know where my, you know where your birth certificate is?
07:37
You gotta find your birth certificate. If you know where yours is, I have no clue where mine is. Do you know where your birth certificate is? Could you find your birth certificate? No, I couldn't. Could you find- I don't know where my birth certificate is. Do you have your- Do you have your passport or your birth certificate? Passport or birth certificate? Passport. Birth certificate or passport? Birth certificate. Birth certificate. Birth certificate. Passport. A lot of Americans don't even have a passport. Birth certificate. Birth certificate. Their birth certificate? Birth certificate or passport? Birth certificate. Birth certificate. Passports. Passports. Birth certificate.
08:07
birth certificate passport passport birth certificate birth certificate birth certificate passport birth certificate birth certificate birth certificate birth birth birth certificate passport passport birth certificate birth certificate birth certificate birth certificate birth I don't know what I'm up birth certificate what is this birth certificate of I and I've told you again I have I went online I went to
08:36
All I did, all I did was I Googled birth certificate state of Georgia and it sent me to a site and I requested my birth certificate. I filled in all of the information that it asked, got right up to the paywall and then I backed out because I've got my birth certificate. I know exactly where it is. It took about 60 seconds for me to get to the point where I was gonna have to pay $25 in the state of Georgia
09:05
to get my, it is a very easy process. Let's go to Susan in Pickens. Susan, how are you? I'm good, Charlie. How are you? I'm fantastic. What's up? Well, first of all, thank you for all you do. We appreciate you. oh Thank you. I just wanted to know if you've heard anything about in Texas about the polling places, the voter places in mosques down there. And a lot of people are not wanting to go to the mosque to be able to place their votes. Okay.
09:34
Yes, I have heard about this. And here's what they're saying. It's not a mosque. This polling place is not a mosque. It's a Muslim center. It's not a mosque. It's a Muslim center. There's a huge difference. I would walk right in there with my Jesus shirt on, my cross, and my support dog with me. There you go. What would they be able to do?
10:02
Can you keep a support dog out of the polling place? I don't know. Because we know Muslims, Muslims don't like dogs. That's a great idea. Thank you, Susan. Let's go to John in Simpsonville. John, welcome. Hey, Charlie. How you doing? I'm fantastic. What's on your mind this afternoon? Well, you know what? I was born and raised in Alabama. I've been in Greenville for a long time, but I, and I'll tell you, Alabama is not known for being the most progressive state in the world. I needed the first Tifkut to go.
10:32
uh... to uh... to say i'm not very inflation and i could just use my passport all that it took me literally two hours diverse yeah from montgomery alabama and it's the most absurd thing i've ever heard in my life that people can get birth certificates is this an excuse that's all it is it's an excuse to protect the illegal aliens that's all it is john all that is you got a bike i appreciate it
11:00
Thank you, pal. We'll take a quick break and be right back. It's the Charlie James Show, News Talk 98.9, WORD, the voice of the Carolinas.
