Voter ID and the S.A.V.E. act discussion

00:00 All right, let's go to the WRD talk line. We'll talk to Ralph in Gaffney. Ralph, welcome. Charlie. And you know, the Bible says we entertain angels unaware. Yeah. Yeah. I believe those are our pets a lot of times. Yeah. Quite possible. my wife had diabetes and high blood pressure and we have a little Jack Russell named Lucky. And so she used to sleep with us. So one morning she starts 00:29 Bounce around, my wife said, what she did? said, I don't know. And that was right before eight o'clock. And the next day she was on the side of the bed and was doing that and beating it up. And the third day she was in the bed with us and the Lord said, check her sugar. Her sugar was at 75. That smell that, is it keitosis when it's sugar drop? That smell was not normal to Lucky. And so she was warning us. 00:59 So she's a registered assistant dog. My wife since passed, but she takes care of my son now. My son has Asperger's. She keeps them laughing and focused. Yeah, they are amazing. They really, really are. I mean, they are, in a lot of cases, they can be lifesavers, right? Yeah. Yeah, I appreciate it, Ralph. Thank you very, very much. Sorry to hear about your wife, by the way. Let's go to Patrick in Pickens. How you doing, Patrick? Good, Charlie. uh Just wanted to... 01:28 share a story. So I grew up in Alabama. Don't hold that against me. I'm a Bulldog fan at heart. There you go. So anyway, uh back during the mid 80s and a friend of mine that lived across the street, one of my best friends, he had brought home a Siberian Husky and the Husky probably stayed there, I don't know, maybe a couple of months or whatever. It'd stay on the front porch and it would howl, you know. 01:58 His mother, my buddy's mother said, Travis, you got to get rid of this dog, you know, so give it away, whatever. So he ended up giving it to a friend of ours who lived probably about 10 to 11 miles away. So he loaded, loaded the dog up, drove him to our buddy's house. And the next morning that dog was sitting on the front porch. So he didn't follow him home, you know, I mean, right then, but that dog. 02:28 found, you know, come all the way back there. I mean, I thought that was just amazing, you know. Yeah. That they could find their way back like that. Find their way back. So anyway, have a good one, I appreciate it. Go dogs. In more ways than one. Yeah, they're absolutely amazing. I mean, you hear these stories about dogs. um There was one uh story where, I forget the circumstance, but the dog 02:55 The family moved and I don't know what happened, the reason that the dog didn't go with him. I don't know if it was by accident or by design, but this dog. 03:07 Gosh, I wish I could remember that story. This dog literally traveled halfway across the country to find his owners and he did it. I mean, some of these stories that you hear about these animals are just absolutely amazing. They have so much more sense in a lot of cases than humans do. I mean, you get four dogs together, they're gonna have a lot more sense than the entire dais of the ladies on the view. 03:36 That's a fact, scientifically proven. In fact, old Hoopie Goldberg, she doesn't understand why we need the same act. They say, she says, it's pointless. Take a listen to this. I'm You have to present your ID when you go to vote. I always have to give them my driver's license. Yeah. So they can make sure that it's me. You don't have to do that. all have. I didn't have to do They all have to. You don't? 04:05 They have all this information in the voter registration. It's all the information that's already. is suing the states so that they get that information and a lot of that is very personal information. Well, you know what? A lot of information that... 04:19 We have given away ourselves this very personal information, which has allowed them to go in and get information you probably shouldn't give away. But my point is, we have all the things in place. What is it? What is this about? I don't want to have to you don't have good policies, need to gerrymander votes. Well, he's the only one who asked for extra votes. 04:40 He's the only one and he did it and we heard him do it. It's not like I'm making it up. He said, if you can find me, that would be very helpful. Okay. So she done, she done, you know, I got to show in, and everybody on the day, I was just like, we don't have to show our ID to vote. You don't have to do that here. In fact, you don't have to do it in any. 05:01 of the states surrounding Whoopi Goldberg. Not in New York, not in any state bordering New York do you have to show an ID to vote? None of them. All we're asking is that you go by what the Constitution says and the Constitution says only citizens are allowed to vote. 05:24 So therefore, if I were a Supreme Court justice, I'd say that right there shows that you have to prove that you're a citizen. If only citizens are allowed to vote, how do you know someone's a citizen other than seeing some form of an identification? And all these people are out there, they're like, oh, oh, you're trying to federalize the elections. Well, what that actually did, that little thing in the Constitution kind of already took care of all that. 05:54 It says only citizens are allowed to vote. 06:00 Who determines citizenship? The federal government. You cannot be a citizen of a state and not a citizen of the federal government. You can't be a citizen of a county and not be a citizen of the federal government. 06:15 So therefore, that little clause is taken care of. And again, I'll say it again, this is the lowest bar ever set. 06:27 for restrictions on voting. All you gotta do is prove you're a citizen. And all these women are out there, they're whining, they can't, stop it. Stop it. On one hand, you wanna tell us how smart and how wonderful and how independent you are. And on the other hand, you're telling us you're too stupid to know how to go get a copy of your birth certificate. That's ridiculous. 06:55 I said, one of the easiest things in the world to do. Not about that. This is not about American citizens voting for the left. It's about non-citizens voting. They want to make sure they get to the polls. If they weren't afraid of that, why then? 07:15 Do they want to make sure that ICE isn't at polling stations? Anybody think about that? Why aren't they? Why are they so mad about that? Well, because they know exactly what's happening. Illegals are voting. 07:33 um The South Carolina Freedom Caucus has just issued this a minutes, a little while ago. They have filed a resolution that House leadership needs to take up immediately to suspend a portion of the imposition of the user fee on gasoline and diesel fuel and the imposition of the road tax for 60 days. I think this is a great idea. That needs to be done. There's also a bill that is looking like it's getting a lot of support. 08:03 that would actually make ivermectin over the counter here in south carolina who that would be good now remember this stuff might be done 08:12 Because all of these establishment Republicans, well, they want to make sure you think they're conservative. We'll be right back. It's the Charlie James Show, Newstalk 98.9, WORD, the voice of the Carolinas.
