After rising to their highest since last September, mortgage rates have declined in April, with the average 30-year fixed mortgage down to 6.34%, according to the latest Bankrate estimates. While mortgage rates remain sensitive to shifts in the geopolitical climate, a new Bankrate analysis of ICE Mortgage Technology data, published today, finds that this shift has opened a potentially significant window for millions of homeowners to lower their monthly housing costs.
