The conflict in Iran appears to be shifting from active strikes into a high-stakes diplomatic and economic standoff centered on the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has made a new offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if the U.S. lifts its naval blockade and moves toward ending the war first, with nuclear talks postponed until later. The White House is actively reviewing that proposal, but reports suggest the administration is unhappy with the current terms and no agreement has been reached.
