As of May 2026, Louisiana leads the nation in academic recovery and growth, ranking first in reading and second in math growth from 2022 to 2025. Data from the 2026 Education Recovery Scorecard shows Louisiana is the only state to surpass pre-pandemic 2019 levels in both subjects, marking a significant rise from 49th place in 2019 to 32nd in 2024.
