Why are people so sensitive to criticisms of their favorite teams, artists, etc?

Morgan Wallen fans took great offense to negative reviews about his US Bank Stadium show on Friday. Minnesota sports fans constantly complain about the coverage from national media. Why are we all so sensitive?
