The attempt in Virginia to mandate retirement for judges exceeding the age of 54 is a clear instance of ageism that cannot be tolerated. It is particularly hypocritical given that numerous Democrats currently serving in high-level positions are themselves older than 54. Is it necessary for members of Congress to be native-born citizens of the United States? When it comes to making critical decisions for our nation, is it essential that those leaders be from the country itself?
