During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess caught up with CITY Midfielder, Alexandru Mățan, ahead of the team’s last of 5 matches in 15 days, back home in front of St. Louis fans at Energizer Park hosting Toronto. Mati shared his journey in The Beautiful Game, starting at age 6, then onto the Gheorgie Hagi Football Academy being coached by one of the best to ever play for Romania. He also shared challenging times during his professional debut as a 16-year-old, along with his first time in the MLS during the COVID years. Alex is looking forward to the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final against his former team Columbus, especially has he’s found early success with CITY in his “easiest adaptation” to a team to date.
