Mavreen Hering has been the head softball coach at Division III Stockton University since 2015. On her watch, the Ospreys have been one of the top teams in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, winning nearly 60% of their games. This year, just days after recording this interview, Hering led Stockton to the program's first-ever NJAC regular season championship. Hering also enjoyed a very successful run as the head coach at Camden Catholic High School and was a standout player in college at another NJAC school, Rowan.
In Episode #291 of "1-on-1 with Matt Leon," Matt talks with Hering about her career. They discuss her coaching success, talk about overcoming a torn ACL during her college days, discuss how softball has exploded in the US over the last decade and much more.
"1-on-1 with Matt Leon” is a KYW Newsradio original podcast. You can follow the show on X @1on1pod and you can follow Matt @Mattleon1060.
