A former corrections officer at the Mercer County Jail has pleaded guilty to charges related to smuggling items in for prisoners.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office says 42-year-old Tyree Hobbs, of Hamilton, admitted to sneaking drugs, cigarettes and other items into the jail.
Investigators say he then hid those items in areas accessible to the inmates who were bribing him.
As part of the plea, prosecutors are requesting 364 days in jail followed by probation and a lifetime prohibition from public employment.
