Gov. Josh Shapiro is weighing in on the Bucks County congressional race. He's endorsing Bob Harvie in next week's Democratic primary.
Shapiro said Harvie will advance an agenda "that helps Pennsylvania and stands up against the chaos, cruelty, and corruption of Donald Trump."
Harvie is the vice chairman of the Bucks County Board of Commissioners. He faces Lucia Simonelli in the primary. The winner will take on Republican Brian Fitzpatrick, who is seeking a sixth term.
Shapiro has not picked a favorite in the contested 3rd District race in Philadelphia, but Axios reports the governor is no fan of the progressive candidate Chris Rabb. The news outlet says Shapiro has advised the building trades not to help Rabb in the race. The governor doesn't want the unions running attack ads against Ala Stanford as they support Sharif Street for the nomination.
