Two customers are suing IKEA in federal court in Philadelphia for refunds on President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
The Supreme Court overturned the import taxes, and the Trump administration has begun taking applications for refunds. But, only importers like IKEA can apply.
So, these customers are demanding that IKEA pass the refunds on.
In a proposed class-action lawsuit, they argue that they and thousands of other customers were the ones actually paying the tariffs through inflated prices.
The price of some sofas, for example, went up $50. A bedroom set went up $100. Even a $4 picture frame went up by $2.
IKEA, which has its U.S. headquarters in Conshohocken, hasn’t commented on the lawsuit.
