Turner, the dog named after Phillies shortstop and sister of Schwarber, adopted on day of scheduled euthanasia

Last week, we told you about a pair of sibling pit bulls scheduled to be euthanized at the city's only open intake animal shelter because of overcrowding. Schwarber was adopted in the nick of time on Thursday, and now ACCT Philly tells us his sister, Turner, has also found a new home. Most shelters and rescues in the region are at or near capacity. Animal welfare organizations say adopting or fostering an animal will save lives. Fostering frees up space in kennels for other animals in need of a home.
