Former Pirates pitcher AJ Burnett joined the show. AJ gave Chris some advice ahead of his first pitch tonight. The guys joked with AJ about the time he hit a truck driving behind home plate during his warmup. AJ said to throw at the body, not the glove. AJ said he was honored to take part in the city connect announcement last week and to be part of this game tonight. AJ described this Pirates team as a set of grinders that have done the little things to get the job done. AJ predicted a Konnor Griffin home run tonight and can’t get over the size of the 19-year-old. AJ talked about how much his connection to the city of Pittsburgh means and the perfect fit it was way back when. He loves that he was part of the team that got the Pirates back to the playoffs for this city. AJ had advice for the young pitchers on the staff and how they can become the best version of themselves. AJ was pumped to see a lot of these guys in the spring when he sent a few days at the facility. He gave a breakdown of Bubba Chandler, who will start for the Buccos tonight.
