It’s been two years since Ed Sheeran first kicked off his +–=÷× Tour, known as the Mathematics Tour. The worldwide trip began as the accompanying tour for his 2021 album = (Equals), and then later included his May 2023 release, - (Subtract). Subtract marked the completion of Sheeran’s math-inspired album set, and with it, the tour transformed. Mathematics quickly became a multi-year celebration of the six albums, which spanned some of the songwriter’s most famous hits, from “Thinking Out Loud” to “Shivers”. Now, it seems that the musical celebration has an official end date.
“Hey guys, so I got something very exciting to tell you,” Sheeran began in a selfie video on Instagram. “2025 is the end of the Mathematics tour. I’m doing big shows in Europe and some more that we’re going to announce soon but, uh, this is it! This is the end, and hope you like it.”
The caption on his post, which is across all his social media accounts, went on to explain some of the new (and final) concert details. With one last tease, Sheeran wrote, “see you next year. It was time to Stop, but then we can press Play…”
The Mathematics Tour is now set to include an astonishing total of 131 concerts across 5 different continents - hitting Europe twice. Oh, and if that and his endless catalog of hits weren’t enough, Sheeran also released his Disney+ Sum of It All documentary while on this tour. It’s fair to say that the “Bad Habits” singer deserves some good rest!
The final 2025 leg of the tour begins in Madrid on May 5, and will include cities like Rome, Oslo, and Stockholm before ultimately ending in Dusseldorf, Germany on September 9. The general ticket sale for these shows begins this Wednesday, July 10. To find out more about these dates, visit Sheeran’s official website here.
