Cory and Topanga together again!
“Boy Meets World” stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have joined forces again to celebrate their love of pizza and romcoms, reported People.
The former child stars reunited in a commercial for Panera’s new flatbread pizzas that also pays homage to some of the best romantic comedies from the last several decades.
The clip itself is made in the form of a trailer for a cheesy film the chain calls “Forever Flatbreads” and features lines and scenes that references films such as "Love Actually," "When Harry Met Sally,” "Jerry Maguire” and “Sixteen Candles.”
From their meet-cute to a montage of the couple’s burgeoning relationship, the video features all the familiar romantic comedy tropes.
"Did you just take the last slice of pizza?" Fishel asks Savage. "I didn't think you'd want it," Savage responds. "I wanted you to want me to want it!" Fishel says while storming off.
In a clear reference to “Love Actually,” Savage then stands outside the restaurant holding up a pizza box and flashing signs that read: "You're the Pizza...I never knew... I needed."
The ad ends with the couple sitting on a dining room table ala “Sixteen Candles” as Fishel says, “You had me at pepperoni.” A funny variation to Renee Zellweger’s line in “Jerry Maguire.”
Savage and Fishel played Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence on “Boy Meets World” for seven seasons. Premiering in 1993, the portrayed high school sweethearts who wind up married by the show’s finale in 2000.
The two actors returned to play older versions of their characters in the Disney Channel spin-off "Girl Meets World" from 2014 to 2017.
