Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Nevadans will now have another option of where to receive a coronavirus vaccination.

CVS Pharmacy announced on Thursday that locations in Nevada will start administering COVID-19 vaccinations as part of a federal program expanding availability at retail pharmacies.

The health care company said Thursday that it's now giving shots in nearly 1,200 stores across 29 states and Puerto Rico.

"We're increasing the number of active stores and expanding to additional states as fast as supply allows, with the capacity to administer [millions of] shots per month," Karen S. Lynch, president and CEO of CVS Health, said in a press release.

Appointments will start to become available for booking on Saturday. Anyone interested in receiving their vaccination through CVS can visit CVS.com or call (800) 746-7287.

CVS' announcement puts them in the company of other retail pharmacies in Nevada that have been providing vaccinations by appointment as well, including Walgreens, Walmart, Sam's Club and Smith's Food & Drug.
