BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Joe Thomas is back with the Browns, but this time in the booth.
Thomas was named the color analyst for the team’s preseason telecasts this year on Tuesday and veteran broadcaster Tom McCarthy will handle play-by-play duties.
Team senior media broadcaster Nathan Zegura will handle sideline duties.
“It gives me chills just thinking about being back in Cleveland and being able to call the Browns’ preseason games,” Thomas said. “This team, this city and these fans have all had a huge impact on my life, and being paired with a veteran broadcaster like Tom McCarthy just adds to the excitement. The Browns accomplished some great things last year, and I’m looking forward to being there as they build on that success for 2021.”
The Browns’ television partner WEWS TV-5 will broadcast both games.
NFL Network announced they would carry the Browns' first two preseason games for a nationwide audience but their broadcast will be blacked out locally.
The trio will call the first two preseason games – at Jacksonville Aug. 14 and against the Giants Aug. 22.
The preseason finale at Atlanta will be broadcast nationally by NBC on Sunday Night Football.
