Browns Joel Bitonio named to AP All-Pro first team; Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett second team

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Browns left guard Joel Bitonio was named to the Associated Press All-Pro first team Friday.

Bitonio was the only Brown named to the first team. It marks the second consecutive year Bitonio, who has been named to the second team on three occasions, received the honor.

Running back Nick Chubb and defensive end Myles Garrett were named to the second team.

Bitonio was named to his fifth straight Pro Bowl, the NFLPA All-Pro first team and the Cleveland chapter of the Pro Football Writers voted Bitonio as the Joe Thomas Award winner as the team’s best player for the 2022 season.

Chubb and Garrett were also named Pro Bowlers and to the NFLPA All-Pro first team. Chubb was named by the AP for the first time in his career while Garrett received his second first team selection. He has been named to the second team twice.

Chubb finished third in the NFL in rushing with 1,525 yards while Garrett tied his own Browns franchise record with 16.0 sacks this past season.

The selections are a result of voting done by 50 members who cover the league regularly. Under a new voting system implemented this year, first-team votes were worth 3 points, second-team votes are worth 1.
