
CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Browns are headed to Houston next weekend for Super Wild Card weekend.
Cleveland, seeded fifth in the AFC as the top Wild Card team, will meet the 10-7 and AFC South champion Texans Saturday afternoon at 4:30 on NBC the NFL announced.
Houston beat the Colts 23-19 in Indianapolis Saturday night and the Jaguars lost to the Titans in Tennessee Sunday 28-20, dropping Jacksonville out of the playoffs and giving the division to the Texans.
As a result of that Jaguars loss, the Steelers, who beat the Ravens backups Saturday 17-10 in Baltimore, clinched the No. 7 seed in the AFC.
The Browns beat the Texans on Christmas eve 36-22 behind a record setting day for receiver Amari Cooper, who set a franchise record with 265 receiving yards with a pair of touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the victory.
Houston, who fell behind 36-7 in that Week 16 contest, was without outstanding rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud for the game.
The three AFC Wild Card games will be played first followed by the three NFC games.
The Chiefs will host the Dolphins Saturday night at 8 p.m. on Peacock.
The Sunday at 1 p.m. game on CBS and Paramount+ will be the Steelers at Buffalo.
In the NFC the Cowboys host the Packers at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on FOX and NBC and Peacock will carry the Lions and Rams from Detroit at 8 p.m. The Eagles travel to Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC.
