Dear Matt,
I live in the Cleveland-Akron countryside (or rural part, whatever). I own a really sweet Alpaca — I love them. Anyway — my boyfriend of a year and half wants to move in together but he refuses to move in unless I donate Daisy, my Alpaca. He doesn’t like Daisy — and for some reason thinks he can’t live in my house while Daisy is on the property (Daisy stays outside in her shed and on the grounds). What do I do?

Dear Daisy and Danielle,
This is a really weird hill for your boyfriend to die on. Daisy lives and stays outside. He doesn’t have to do anything with her. He can actively live in your house and won’t have to deal with Daisy. It would be one thing if the alpaca physically lived with you in the house.
It’s a valid concern if he was scared or allergic — but to just dislike your animal that lives in a pen? It’s a bit dramatic.
Unfortunately, your boyfriend appears to be making a stupid ultimatum, and if I were in your position I’d value my pre-existing drama-free pet over a child.-
Matt
