Middle School Students to Match Wits at “Polaris Palooza!” Robotics Competition
Polaris Career Center is presenting the 3rd annual “Polaris Palooza,” a student driven, student hosted middle school robotics competition where over 90 eighth graders representing five local school
districts (Brooklyn, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Strongsville) will face off in hands-on, high-stakes events.
The fast-paced MADGRAB challenge allows participants to design and program their robots autonomously to scoop as many balls as possible while competing in an action-packed arena setting. Middle school teams will also test their dragster car designs in the longest distance challenge while following specific criteria and constraints. Finally, all attendees will have the opportunity to test exciting new technology with drones and student-made robotic games in the tournament style competitions will take place until the winning teams are determined. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event.
This is a great showcase of what the students have learned in their middle school Project Lead the Way STEM classes. This is practical, hands-on learning and the students are EXCITED!
