
CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Friday night the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed to 92.3 The Fan.
WJW Fox-8 TV in Cleveland first reported the news.
The traffic stop occurred on Route 2 near East 55th just east of downtown Cleveland at 8:53 p.m.
Altman, who turned 41 on Saturday, was charged with “committing a marked lanes violation and OVI” according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
“Troopers initiated a traffic stop, and during their interaction with the driver observed indicators of impairment,” the Ohio Highway Patrol said. “The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for OVI and soon after offered a breath test, which he refused.”
The Ohio State Highway Patrol noted that “Throughout the traffic stop, Altman was respectful and cooperative with troopers.
The team issued a brief statement Saturday afternoon: “We are aware of an incident involving Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman. We are currently gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.”
Altman, who joined the Cavs front office in 2012, was named general manager in 2017. He was promoted to president of basketball operations in January 2022.
