
As kids head back to school, the mask debate continues on. Per WKYC, below is a compiled list of mask policies for individual school districts.
Akron Public Schools - Akron Public Schools announced that they would require face coverings for all children and staff, regardless of vaccine status.
Aurora City Schools - masks will be optional for the upcoming school year.
Bay Village School District - masks will be mandatory for all students and staff, at least for the beginning of the school year.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District - masks will be required on buses and will be strongly recommended for unvaccinated students.
Brunswick City Schools - masks are not required but are recommended for anyone who may be at an elevated risk due to health concerns, as well as anyone who has not been vaccinated.
Canton City School Districts - mask mandate would be in effect for all those who enter a building within the school district.
Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools - masks and face coverings are required for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Staff who work with these grade levels are also required to wear a mask while indoors.
Chardon Local School District - masks will be recommended for unvaccinated individuals.
Cleveland Metropolitan School District - For the first five weeks of the school year, students, staff, and guests will be required to wear masks, whether they are vaccinated for COVID-19 or not.
Cuyahoga Falls City School District - masks will not be required, but are strongly recommended
Lorain City Schools - masks will not be required for fully vaccinated students and staff.
Massillon City School District - Teachers, students and staff will be required to wear masks in school buildings and on all transportation.
Mayfield City Schools - Students and staff are not required to wear masks in schools but are required while riding busses
Mentor Public Schools - masks and face coverings will no longer be optional inside of school buildings.
Nordonia Hills - Masks are required district-wide.
Parma City Schools - No mask mandate
Rocky River School District - masks are optional for all individuals.
Strongsville City Schools - face coverings will be "worn at the discretion of the individual on school property or school busses."
Twinsburg School District - masks will be required for students younger than 12-years-old.
West Geauga Local Schools - Universal masking for K-12 students indoors from Aug. 25 through the end of the first quarter (Oct. 22). The district says they will reevaluate their plan at that point to determine next steps.
Willoughby Eastlake School District - masks will be optional for the upcoming school year.
