BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Odell Beckham Jr. has been excused from practice for a second day a league source confirmed to 92.3 The Fan.

Beckham was excused from practice Wednesday, a day after his father, Odell Beckham Sr. posted a video on Instagram titled “Odell Beckham is Always Open for the Cleveland Browns in 2021” and ripped quarterback Baker Mayfield while responding to comments on it.

Browns executive vice president of football operations Andrew Berry spoke with Beckham’s representatives Wednesday to begin the process of resolving the situation, which likely will ultimately result in Beckham’s departure from Cleveland.

Mayfield said Wednesday that he would be willing to put his “ego and pride” to the side and welcome Beckham back despite being “surprised” by the post.

Both Mayfield and Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that they had not spoken to Beckham about the situation as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Browns acquired Beckham from the Giants in a blockbuster trade in March of 2019 and chemistry issues between Beckham and Mayfield have been at the forefront of conversation ever since.
