BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – With the preseason in the books, the waiting game begins.
Teams have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to get down to 53 players and we expect that Andrew Berry will begin to make his roster decisions quickly.
Berry has some tough calls to make, especially with the running back depth. Can they keep five?
One thing that is clear, this receiver group just won’t cut it. They’re too young and too inconsistent behind Amari Cooper and Berry will need to rectify that this week through a trade or waiver claim(s). His draft picks: Donovan Peoples-Jones, Anthony Schwartz and David Bell are going to make it and of those picks Schwartz is the least deserving as he continues to struggle with catching the football, a primary part of the job description.
Other tough calls need to be made at reserve spots on the offensive line, defensive line and what to do with the depth at tight end and who wins the fourth safety spot?
