Rock Off Showcase Features Alumni Bands

This Weds. August 11 To Kick-Off Entries

CLEVELAND, OH- August 9, 2021 – Live Nation is proud to announce the 25th Annual Tri-C® High School Rock Off will once again take place at the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, Live Nation and the Rock Hall are teaming up to present a Rock Off showcase featuring alumni artists Detention, Lil’ G. Fresh, Grenon, Assault and School of Rock this Wednesday, August 11 on the Rock Hall Plaza. The free event starts at 5:00 p.m.

The annual battle of the high school bands and musicians is presented by Live Nation, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), Scene Magazine, Fox 8, 96.5 KISS FM, 100.7 WMMS, The Real 106.1 and iHeart Media.

Performance Dates for 2022 Tri-C High School Rock Off:

January 22, 29, February 5 - The Final Exam, February 12

All Performance rounds subject to change

HOW TO ENTER THE ROCK OFF

All genres of high school bands and musicians are encouraged to enter. Interested performers can secure 2022 Rock Off entry forms online at www.rockhall.com/rockoff.

Applicants must complete and submit the Rock Off application along with a two-song demo of your music via www.soundcloud.com/high-school-rock-off with a $60 entry fee in a check or money order payable to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; please do not send cash. All performers must be enrolled in grade 12 or lower at the time of the competition to be eligible and at least half of the band members must be high school students. Entry fees will be refunded in full to performers not selected. Deadline to enter is Friday, December 10, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

Bands selected will play a 15-minute set during the Rock Off semifinal rounds at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. During each of the Rock Off rounds, three bands will be selected by a panel of judges to move on to “The Final Exam.” All finalists will record one original song at Tri-C’s Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts, which will be produced by Jim Stewart Recording and students from Tri-C’s Recording Arts program. These songs will be available as free downloads on www.rockhall.com/rockoff at the time of The Final Exam.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN

The winning band will receive $1,000 cash and $250 for their high school music program. Second place will receive $250 cash and $100 for their high school music program and third place will receive $100 cash.
