Need someone to root for in the biggest singing competition on tv? Two Clevelander's will appear on tonight's episode of American Idol - Deshawn Goncalves and Mary Jo Young.
Goncalves is a Columbus native currently living in Cleveland. He's studying music technology and performance at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississipi, but is studying remotely from Cleveland due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Young currently studies at Cleveland State University, but gave singing a shot on Tik Tok and Instagram. At the time of her first audition, she had over 250k Tik Tok followers.
The "Showstopper" round will air tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC. It will be available to stream on Hulu and ABC's website on Tuesday.
