New research from Zillow reveals the hottest housing markets for the year ahead. Topping the list is Buffalo, New York, followed by two cities in Ohio: Cincinnati and Columbus. Where does Cleveland measure up on this list? Well, we still make the top 10 coming in at number 8!
The Great Lakes, Midwest and South regions are at the top of Zillow’s rankings, thanks to affordability and job growth. With affordability being the biggest factor, lower-cost markets like the Great Lakes, Midwest and South were more appealing.
Zillow’s annual predictions for the top housing markets are based on factors including an analysis of expected home value growth, projected changes in the labor market, recent housing market velocity and home construction activity. Research shows that homes in these areas tend to go under contract faster than the national average.
