As reported by Page Six, Swizz Beatz, has asked Kanye to take part in the memorial service for his longtime collaborator and dear friend DMX, who died earlier this month after suffering a heart attack. Taking place on Saturday April 24 at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center, the service will be closed to the public, however fans will be able to tune in to the event via livestream.

Just one day after his passing, Swizz took to Instagram to share a few thoughts about his friend. Captioning his nearly 9 minute video with, “Long live the KING!!!! DMX  🤲🏾❌🕊🌹🙌🏽.”

While X’s family and loved ones will be in attendance for the service an additional private funeral service will be held at an undisclosed New York City church the following day, April 25 just for them.

Ye was close friends with the Ruff Ryders leader, even previously enlisting him to perform a prayer at one of his Sunday Services back in May 2019. Which West’s now estranged wife Kim posted a video of on Twitter, see below.

However, despite their friendship and respect, it is still unsure if Kanye will be able to make service or choose to pay his respects from his Wyoming home. Upon the outlet's request for additional information, Swizz Beatz’s team declined to comment.
