Tiktok is to blame for this. Recently in the comment section 'Gen Z' has been dissing millenials for using the laugh cry emoji, calling it "cringe" and "lame." Instead 'Gen Z' wants us to use the skull emoji or the "dead" emoji to respond with when we think something is funny.
The 'skull' emoji or 'coffin' emoji indicate that the joke or situation is so funny they have literally 'died' of laughter.
So, there you have it. Time to retire the 'laugh cry' emoji and replace it with the much cooler 'skull' emoji when you think something is funny.
