Will Smith wants to clarify his marriage situation with Jada Pinkett Smith.

A November 2021 interview Smith did with GQ created much speculation as to the couple’s open relationship; not to mention Pinkett Smith having previously said during a 2020 "Red Table Talk" episode that she had a romantic “entanglement” during their marriage with singer Austin Alsina.

Eyebrow-raising chatter about it all – either from fans or Pinkett Smith herself – doesn’t seem to have dented their marriage, as Smith recently claimed during an interview on CBS Sunday Morning show.

“I have decided that chatter about my life can be of a benefit to people,” said the former Fresh Prince of Bel Air. “Chatter is the first stage to having a real conversation and to be able to truly explore if some of the things in your heart are loving or poisonous.”

The implication of cheating in that "Red Table Talk" interview especially set off lots of fan speculation, but Smith squashed that, as Entertainment Tonight reported.

“There's never been infidelity in our marriage,” he said on Sunday Morning. “Jada and I talk about everything, and we have never surprised one another with anything ever.”

As is often said of such “open” relationships, one person is usually more open than the other. But Smith seemingly has no problem with the set up. As he explained in that GQ interview, “Jada never believed in conventional marriage... Jada had family members that had an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up.”

The arrangement seems to be working as the two have been married for 23 years, and have raised two kids, Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21. (Smith has another child, 29-year-old Trey, from a previous marriage.)

The couple seem just fine career-wise, too. Jada recently came to terms with her alopecia diagnosis, and proudly rocked her shorn head look on the red carpet of her hit movie, “The Matrix: Resurrections.”

While Will is soaking up accolades for his Oscar-nominated role as the Williams sisters’ hard-driving tennis coach dad, Richard Williams, in “King Richard.” Between producing the new “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” reboot, “Bel Air,” he also traveled the globe to film amazing adventures for the Disney+/National geographic show, “Welcome to Earth.”

“I think I'm a better actor than I've ever been," said the actor, "and I think these next 10 years of my career will be the top of my acting performances."
