India is TikTok's largest market. The country banned the popular app along with several dozen other Chinese-owned apps over security concerns.
Earlier this week, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the United States is also looking into banning TikTok.
Is there truly a security threat? No one seems to know for sure, yet, but a TikTok spokesperson for the app has stated that it is run by an American CEO.
The United States and India may have evidence regarding security concerns, but they have not yet been released.
