Dating is stressful enough, but when you throw in a global pandemic on top of it, finding a significant other seems nearly impossible.
The owner of the dating app Bumble reported that the company expects higher demand from singles who have been avoiding in-person dating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bumble also experienced a rise in fourth-quarter revenue, reports Reuters.
Bumble reported that the company predicts that revenue will range from $163 million and $165 million.
As for Bumble BFF, the company said that it is expanding the friendship portion on the app since those relationships could potentially create more opportunities moving forward.
In the United States, Bumble has 2.2 million downloads and 5.5 monthly active users.
While dating during the pandemic may be difficult, Tinder reported in 2020 that pandemic-themed pickup lines were a popular trend.
“Let’s be like the coronavirus and catch each other," was one of the many coronavirus related sayings that were a popular trend among Tinder users during 2020, the famous dating app reported in its “Year in Swipe” review. Many users referenced a "quarantine and chill" approach to 2020 dating.
The review found many other creative bios from real users’ profiles. Some included “looking for a plus-one for my family Zoom calls” and “looking for someone to pump up my heart rate so my glasses fog with my mask on.”
