For anyone keeping score at home.
After last night’s episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Buzzfeed News crunched the numbers and published a timeline that seemed to prove Kim came down with coronavirus after her headline-making 40th birthday vacation to Tahiti last October at the height of the third wave of the pandemic.
The former Mrs. Kanye quickly poo-pooed the BuzzFeed projections in a tweet, explaining that she got the virus from her and Kanye's son, Saint.
“False,” tweeted the KKW Beauty exec. “Nobody caught Covid from the trip. Saint was the first to have it in our family and he caught it from school from another student who tested positive first. I then developed symptoms and got it a few days after he coughed on me while caring for him.”
But according to Page Six, the episode documented Kim’s debate about re-doing her baby bar exam in November, when Saint contracts coronavirus. Kim’s daughter North West also felt sick, and Kim revealed they were due to be tested soon. Production shut down, and the entire family quarantined for two weeks.
As per the vagaries of virus transmission, it's difficult to ascertain the timing of the transmissions. A rep for Kim declined to give BuzzFeed the exact date of her positive COVID test.
Kardashian and her family caught flak on social media for taking the trip during a critical point in the pandemic, and sharing posts about it that some deemed tone deaf.
One enraged reader responded, “I haven’t seen ma family in 4 months because I work a public-facing job and I’m absolutely terrified of the possibility of passing Covid on to my vulnerable parents. I hope you had fun pretending things were normal, but spare a thought for those of us staying in the real world.”
“lmao reading this as half of my office got laid off today,” said another.
