A record has fallen.

One that even renowned competitive eater Joey Chestnut couldn’t do — at least not back in 2006.

The Corner Bar in Rockford, Mich. — just north of Grand Rapids — has offered a challenge to customers for years: eat 12 of their chili dogs in four hours and get your name on the wall.

So far, roughly 6,000 names are forever enshrined inside the Corner Bar, while some of them entered the joint trying to break a record.

Back in 2006, Time “Eater X” Janus ate 43 ½ chili dogs to set the record. That same year, Chestnut, 14-time winner of the famed Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on the Fourth of July, managed 36.

But on Wednesday, the record was smashed by Molly Schuyler. WOOD TV 8 in Grand Rapids reports that Schuyler walked into the bar Wednesday and ordered 20 dogs. She woofed them down, then ordered 24 more.

She devoured those 44 dogs in 19 minutes to officially break the record. Then for good measure, she scarfed down six more in three minutes to make it an even 50 chili dogs in 22 minutes.

“She was saying she could have gotten to 75 if she didn’t have the pitcher of water,” Corner Bar General Manager John Vanaman said, according to Wood TV.

Schuyler reportedly left the bar and headed off for ice cream at Dairy Queen.
