7 songs, released on July 7th, on the 20th anniversary of Aaliyah's Aaliyah. This all means something because seven is the number of completion and Amorphous is an Aaliyah historian. Just ask him and it's very clear that he's doing everything he can to keep her legacy alive. For his debut EP, Things Take Shape to release on that day is the epitome of the universe aligning for a next-level cosign.

Ever since Amorphous confirmed that he was in the studio with a living legend and then proceeded to post up with Brandy, fans have been demanding this heat. "The Wave" featuring James Fauntleroy and Brandy is a bop. From the opening beatbox to when the beat comes and Brandy's airy vocals float throughout, ride the wave. There's nothing else that needs to be done. The song puts you in a trance. "The Flow" featuring KOH is for our hip-hop enthusiasts, but has a soft undertone. For sure, see this going up in clubs. We've had a chance to live with the EP's debut single, "Back Together" featuring Kehlani and it's such a Kehlani song! It's hard to explain, but it's one of those things where we can't imagine anyone else blessing this track.

"Midnight Strikes" featuring RAYE is a perfect house track, along with dance track, "The Vibe" featuring Bree Runway. This isn't Amorphous' first go-round getting into his house/dance bag. In case you missed it, he did pay homage to Kaytranada with a mashup album featuring Beyoncé hits. Not gonna lie, "The Vibe" has us ready to rollerskate. It has such a cruise vibe. FINALLY!! When Amorphous released the EP's second single, "Finally (Cannot Hide It)" featuring Kelly Rowland and CeCe Peniston, everyone lost it. Reimagining a classic hit isn't an easy task, but everything Amorphous touches is gold. (No pressure though for future projects!) Not to mention, we've dubbed it the unofficial Pride 365 anthem.

Overall, Amorphous has done it again— "constantly raising the bar for us all and doing it flawlessly." From dynamic mashups that have taken the internet by storm to having a #1 album on the charts, this moment is beyond well-deserved. Things Take Shape has range. There's something on here for every type of music lover and consumer. This is the time of Amorphous and everyone needs to get tapped into his latest project.
