The rumors are true! After months of sightings together and steamy performances, Nelly and Ashanti have confirmed they are back together after Ashanti sported a throwback photo inspired clutch while on the pink carpet of the VMAs.

The pair's history goes all the way back to 2003, when they first began dating and had been together for about a decade before splitting up in 2013.
The "Rock Wit U" singer sported a clutch with a throwback photo of the pair printed right in front. “We’re in a great place,” she said when asked about the rekindling of their relationship. “I think it’s pretty obvious. Yeah, we’re together.”
Nelly first leaked their relationship just a few hours before the VMAs started while appearing on the Philo show Boss Moves With Rasheeda. “Yeah, we’re cool again,” the "Dilemma" rapper told host Rasheeda Frost. “I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that was like, I don’t think, planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do.”
He continued to explain how their time apart made them better partners for each other now. "Sometimes being separate, you understand one another more, where you could be like, ‘well, yo, let me exactly see, maybe, what they see.’ ’Cause you know we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. And we know we’re wrong, but we’re going to stand on it, you know what I mean?" he said.
