
The worlds of Rock and Alternative are in mourning following the passing of beloved author, musician, singer, and songwriter Mark Lanegan at the age of 57.

Best known for his work as frontman of '90s grunge rockers Screaming Trees, as well as his work with The Gutter Twins beside The Afghan Whigs' Greg Dulli, and multiple offerings with Queens of the Stone Age, Lanegan had also given fans a total of eleven solo albums since 1990, as well as collaborative works with instrumentalists Isobel Campbell and Duke Garwood.
“Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan passed away this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland,” a representative announced on social media. “A beloved singer, songwriter, author and musician he was 57 and is survived by his wife Shelley. No other information is available at this time. The family asks everyone to respect their privacy at this time.”
