‘Our Idiot Brother’ actor Matthew Mindler dies at 19

Matthew Mindler, best known for appearing in the 2011 film “Our Idiot Brother,” has died. He was 19.

Earlier this week, Mindler had been reported missing by Millersville University in Pennsylvania, where he had recently enrolled as a freshman.

On Saturday, the university confirmed Mindler’s death in a letter to the student body, reported Page Six.

“It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University. A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing,” read the statement.

“Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28, in Manor Township near campus. Matthew was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center by the coroner for further investigation.”

A cause of death has not been revealed.

According to TMZ, the former child star had not been seen since Tuesday night after failing to return to his dorm room. After not attending classes on Wednesday, he was reported missing.

Mindler starred opposite Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer in the 2011 comedy “Our Idiot Brother.”

Our roles include appearances on the soap opera “As the World Turns,” the short film “Frequency,” and the 2016 TV movie “Chad: An American Boy.”
