HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- For the second time in his career, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month.
The NFL made the announcement Thursday, just a few days before the Texans take on the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Watson, who also won the award as a rookie in October of 2017, is one of 10 Texans to earn AFC Player of the Month honors and the third offensive player in team history, joining Andre Johnson (2008, 2012) and Arian Foster (2010, 2011).
Watson completed 73 percent of his passes in October, going 108-for-148 with 1,293 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns and a 110.6 passer rating.
Perhaps his most memorable play will be the one from this past Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. Watson was able to evade a sack, withstand being inadvertently kicked in the face, adjust his helmet and throw a strike to tight end Darren Fells for the game-winning score.
Watson also ran for 167 yards and two touchdowns while leading the Texans to a 3-1 record. He led the AFC in passing yards and passing touchdowns while ranking second in completions, yards per attempt and passer rating.
Watson ranked second among AFC quarterbacks in rushing yards and tied for first in rushing touchdowns.
