The Astros were unable to complete the series sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday but they took two out of three games over the weekend.
Houston's bats went cold Sunday and the Dodgers beat the Astros 6-2 in the series finale.
Astros rookie starter Spencer Arrighetti (4-9) was solid, striking out five of the first eight batters he faced. He retired eight straight batters from the second inning until allowing a solo homer to James Outman in the fifth.
The Astros (55-50) only mustered four hits in the game, with their runs coming on a two-run shot by Yainer Diaz that also drove in Jose Altuve. But they took both of the first games, winning Saturday on a walk-off home run by Alex Bregman.
The Seattle Mariners (56-51) inched closer to the Astros' American League West lead by beating the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.
