Pendergast: Stefon Diggs trade is a masterpiece for Texans, even if it's a one-year rental
If this is a one-year rental for the Texans and Stefon Diggs, Sean Pendergast isn't complaining. He still loves the trade for Houston.
The logic is quite simple. They essentially flipped the No. 23 overall pick into Diggs, who could elevate Houston into Super Bowl contention, and extra draft picks.
It started with Houston trading out of the first round with the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for No. 42 overall (second round), No. 188 (sixth round), and a second-round pick in 2025. The Texans then used that second-round pick to trade for Diggs.
"I have come to grips quickly that this is going to be a one-year fling with Stefon Diggs and I am cool with it," Pendergast says.
